New Delhi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE), one of the most popular tourist and travel destinations for Indians owing to its world-class city, Dubai, is soon to launch five-year multiple-entry visas. A Dubai economy and tourism official told IANS: “About 8.5 lakh (0.85 million) Indians visited Dubai in the first half of the current year. “The average stay for Indians in Dubai would be around three or four nights,” said Bader Ali Habib, Area Manager – South Asia, International Operations. Habib also said the UAE will soon start issuing five-year multiple-entry visas. This decision should encourage Indians to make more trips to Dubai. Currently, for Indians traveling to Dubai, there is the option of a 30-90 day visa, which when applied by authorized agents is processed within 72 hours of application . There is still no provision for electronic visas in Dubai.
Habib also said that the number of hotel rooms in Dubai is expected to increase soon from around 1.4 lakh to around 1.4 lakh currently. And another luxury hotel ‘Atlantis The Royal’ is expected to open to guests in the fourth quarter of 2022.
These two new developments are sure to increase the number of Indian tourists to the gulf country. Additionally, Emirates Airlines will soon launch its new Airbus A380 service from Bengaluru to Dubai on October 30. The new service is expected to increase the number of business and leisure travelers to Dubai.
