UAE-India CEPA to be operational within a month

The UAE-India CEPA will simplify customs procedures, reduce logistics costs and open up new opportunities for professional services.

The three-day logistics conference concluded with a farewell session at the India Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, addressed by senior officials from both countries.

Nadia Abdul Aziz, President of the NAFL, said: “CEPA will boost the UAE’s logistics sector, which contributes over 14% to Dubai’s GDP. With CEPA in place, Indian products can enter the UAE market through which they can enter the GCC, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Africa and beyond.

In the meantime, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the NAFL and the FFFAI. The MoU supports mutual cooperation between the two forwarding federations, the exchange of knowledge, technology and the exchange of students for internships.

Earlier, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs and CEO of Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said, “CEPA will usher in a new era of joint economic growth and prosperity in both countries, enhance mutual access to markets, improves economic and investment opportunities and paves the way for broader prospects.

Leading logistics players in India and the UAE used the three-day event, hosted at Le Méridien Dubai, to brainstorm ways to improve the outlook for the freight and logistics market .
