Some of Asia’s best have started the showpiece competition with India and Pakistan embarking on their first training sessions on Wednesday.

Pakistan and Afghanistan started their training sessions at the ICC Cricket Academy, after which the Indian team arrived for a first glimpse of the action in the evening.

And as the Indian and Pakistani teams crossed paths, there was a memorable moment when former India captain Virat Kohli and Pakistani skipper Babar Azam met, shook hands and exchanged pleasantries.

The United Arab Emirates are missing

The UAE’s hopes of qualifying for the Asian Cup were dashed after their loss to Hong Kong on Wednesday.
