AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Hundreds of people staged a protest rally in the occupied territories against a “secret” oil deal between the Israeli regime and the United Arab Emirates.

The protest took place on Saturday at the invitation of environmental groups, Russia Today Arabic reported, citing the regime’s television station.

Groups have been raising awareness about the deal and its environmental repercussions since August 14, when it was revealed by The Associated Press in a report.

According to the report, the deal was reached last September as part of the so-called “Abrahamic Accords”.

The accords saw the United States facilitate normalization agreements between the occupation regime and a range of countries in the region, including the United Arab Emirates.

The detente pacts have been packed at all levels by all Palestinian groups, as well as by many peoples and regional governments. Opponents called them a “stab in the back” of Palestine and its cause of liberation from Israeli occupation and aggression.

It was entered into between the Europe-Asia Pipeline Company, a Tel Aviv-owned company, and MED-RED Land Bridge, an Israeli-Emirati joint venture.

The deal, the PA wrote, was “hailed as a move that could cement fledgling diplomatic ties and advance Israel’s energy ambitions.”

Under the agreement, the port of Eilat in the occupied territories would become “a crossing point for Emirati oil destined for Western markets”.

Environmental groups have urged the Israeli Supreme Court to intervene.
