Minor Hotels to Open First Avani Property in Australia – Business Traveler

Minor Hotels has announced plans to open the first Australian property under its Thailand-focused Avani Hotels brand.

The Avani Mooloolaba Beach Hotel will be located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, close to Mooloolaba Beach and approximately 100km north of Brisbane.

The new 180-room property is slated to open in 2025 and will include four restaurants, meeting and event facilities, as well as a rooftop pool, bar, restaurant and wedding venue.

The Avani brand is indeed already present in Australia, but for the moment only under the Avani Residences offer, with establishments in Adelaide, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.

Avani was launched in 2011 and currently has over 30 properties, 12 of which are located in Thailand, with the rest spread across Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal and the United Arab Emirates.

Recent openings include the Avani Muscat Hotel, located near Al Araimi Boulevard Mall and Muscat Mall.

Minor Hotels describes the Avani brand as “an upbeat, contemporary hotel concept that strikes the perfect balance, with an emphasis on good sleep, designed social spaces, locally inspired dining and friendly service.”
