Dubai: Your journey to Expo 2020 doesn’t have to end there – in fact, it’s just the start. Ajman is the smallest emirate located between the hustle and bustle of Sharjah and the serenity of Umm Al Quwain, but it also has a story to tell.
Rich in culture and history, Ajman is home to magnificent fortresses that once protected delicate mountainside villages from looters. It is also bordered by gray mangroves which protect the ecosystem of the Sapphire Coast as well as the complex coastline.
Ajman is divided into three main regions:
- Ajman City: The capital of Ajman, it is located directly on the coast with a natural harbor and is home to over 90 percent of the emirate’s population.
- Masfout: this landlocked enclave is located in the south of the United Arab Emirates, surrounded by the mighty Hajar Mountains. It is best known for its fertile land and its marble.
- Al Manama: Located in the foothills of the Hajar Mountains in the eastern emirate, Al Manama is another agricultural enclave where local trees and honey bees say hello.
