ABU DHABI, 8th August, 2022 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Department of Health (DoH) has become an institutional member of the International Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua), an international organization dedicated to promoting the improving the quality of health care through global cooperation.
Following membership, the DoH will partner with ISQua to strengthen the international healthcare landscape by providing safe, high-quality healthcare services to the global community. Through this membership, the DoH will further position the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a global leader in healthcare quality, support improved patient safety in the UAE and the region, and strengthen quality of the emirate of health care quality index ‘Muashir’ in collaboration with international organizations.
The DoH will also showcase Abu Dhabi‘s healthcare quality programs to attract more regional professionals and experts to share their knowledge and expertise on the latest trends in healthcare quality.
As a member of ISQua, the DoH will organize conferences, exhibitions and workshops at the local, regional and international levels to promote best practices for safe and high quality health services, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of safe health and social care. It will expand cross-collaborations across the global healthcare sector to ensure the optimal delivery of healthcare services to all patients in Abu Dhabi and beyond.
Through ISQua membership, the DoH will have access to all of ISQua’s online resources and free access to the International Journal for Quality in Healthcare (IJQHC).
Hind Al Zaabi, Executive Director of Healthcare Facilities at the DoH, said, “The journey of quality development in healthcare is a continuous journey that never ends. The field of healthcare quality is constantly evolving, with new avenues and areas for improvement. In line with the Abu Dhabi Department of Health’s vision to improve the well-being of society and drive the growth of Abu Dhabi’s healthcare sector, the DoH has proudly joined the community of the International Society for the quality of health care.
