Emirates News Agency – Khalifa University to co-host Times Higher Education Digital Universities MENA 2022 in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 8th September, 2022 (WAM) — Khalifa University of Science and Technology will co-host the Times Higher Education (THE) Digital Universities MENA 2022 in Abu Dhabi to focus on the role of academic institutions in the adoption of digital transformation and internationalization to meet student and community needs.

Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education, will deliver a speech on “The Higher Education Revolution in the MENA Region is Just Beginning” at the conference to be held September 12-14 at the main campus of Khalifa University. The event titled “World-Class Education for a Digital Future” will bring together education leaders, policy makers and industry partners. It will also showcase cutting-edge start-ups and the latest technologies aimed at accelerating education into the next decade of transformation.

Professor Sir John O’Reilly, President of Khalifa University, will deliver the keynote address with Phil Baty, Director of Knowledge, THE. Dr. Arif Sultan Al Hammadi, Executive Vice President of Khalifa University, will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Why the future of higher education must be customizable and learner-centered”, and Dr. Ahmed Al Shoaibi , Senior Vice President – Academic and Student Services, Khalifa University, will share his perspective on “Revolutionizing the Online Student Experience: Challenges and Opportunities”.

Others from Khalifa University addressing the forum include Dr. Ernesto Damiani, Senior Director of the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at Khalifa University, who will join the panel discussion on “Unleashing the potential of higher education with blockchain technology”, and Fahem Al Nuaimi, CEO of Ankabut, who will participate in a panel discussion titled “IT leadership for a smart and sustainable campus”.
