ABU DHABI, 19th April, 2022 (WAM) — Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), has called Zayed’s Humanitarian Work Day an exceptional occasion for the Emirati people, who hold the founding father of the United Arab Emirates in reverence for his humanitarian principles and noble values ​​that formed the very foundation of the country.

“Sheikh Zayed took the humanitarian route to develop the nation, while bringing prosperity to millions of people around the world through development projects and indiscriminate aid donations,” Al Suwaidi stressed. He added that the ADFD is one of those national institutions firmly rooted in the principles of Sheikh Zayed and follows his vision of sustainable development and financing sustainable projects in developing countries.

Al Suwaidi stressed the Fund’s commitment to follow in the footsteps of Sheikh Zayed and implement the leadership guidelines to stand alongside the international community and enable it to overcome all development challenges.

He mentioned that the UAE has become a global model of development, aid donations and humanitarian aid, reiterating the promise to continue working to support and achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

“On this day, we remember the historic achievements of Sheikh Zayed, who built the UAE as a nation of peace and tolerance,” Al Suwaidi said. “We will continue to build bridges of trust with nations, provide them with development support, promote the national economy, enable local industry to become more competitive – in line with the UAE’s vision and strategy. – and to support our country in its efforts to diversify the economy and make it more sustainable.”
