DUBAI, June 28, 2021 (WAM) – The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Dubai Chamber) today hosted the Future Growth Forum, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Center and saw the participation over 500 participants representing 24 sectors, including Ministers from the United Arab Emirates, government officials, business leaders and representatives of multinational companies based in Dubai.

The live event featured opening speeches by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General of Expo 2020 Dubai, and Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Teleworking Applications, and Chairman of the Dubai Digital Economy Chamber.

Following the first plenary session, participants took part in 24 breakout sessions, each addressing existing market challenges and opportunities, as well as recommendations for boosting sustainable economic growth and lowering the cost of doing business in Dubai.

The Future Growth Forum was launched following directives from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, to reduce government procedures for companies by 30% during the next three months.

Participants represented companies of all sizes and sectors, including companies operating in the digital space and cybersecurity, industrial sector, food and beverage, retail, travel and tourism, vehicle manufacturing, health education, aviation, gold and jewelry, and logistics and shipping, among many others.

Al Hashimy and Al Olama discussed emerging areas of the economy that are expected to play a key role in Dubai’s future growth in the short and long term. The opening speeches were followed by breakout sessions that explored various high potential opportunities that can be evaluated by government entities.

In his opening speech, Al Hashimy shared new details on the main features and benefits for businesses at the upcoming Expo 2020 Dubai and explained how the mega event will accelerate Dubai’s economic recovery and bring the world’s attention to the emirate.
