Dubai: Grand Mufti of India receives Golden Visa from United Arab Emirates – News

Grand Mufti of India and Islamic scholar Sheikh Abubakr Ahmad received the Golden Visa from the United Arab Emirates for his humanitarian work.

Sheikh Abubakr, president of the Sheikh Zayed International Peace Conference, is an educator, social worker and philanthropist. An influential ruler of the southern state of Kerala, he is the chancellor of Jamia Markaz, an Islamic university in the Kozhikode district.

The religious leader, known as Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliar, has been a regular face of platforms promoting peace and interfaith dialogue.

Major General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of Residence and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, presented him with the golden visa.

Thanking the leaders of the United Arab Emirates, he said, “I am honored to receive the Golden Visa from the United Arab Emirates. I always feel at home when I am in the United Arab Emirates. It is a second home for millions of Indians. I express my immense gratitude to the leaders of the country, who have promoted peace, unity and tolerance.

Sheikh Abubakr stressed that the unfolding of Expo 2020 Dubai in the midst of the pandemic is a moment of pride for everyone.
