Hala Badri, Dubai‘s chief cultural officer, confirmed that Expo 2020 is an ideal platform for the authority to introduce millions of visitors and locals to the city’s rich culture and creative economy. . This would enrich their experience through various interactive events and activities and strengthen Dubai’s position as a global center of culture, incubator of creativity, thriving hub for talent and the world capital of the creative economy. In accordance with the 2020-2026 strategic roadmap, the authority is committed to making culture accessible to all through the historical, heritage and cultural assets it manages in the emirate. Dubai Culture also enables and supports many annual events which have become an integral part of the emirate’s cultural agenda. It is keen to ensure that all facilities affiliated with the culture and heritage sector, such as museums, libraries, heritage sites and art galleries, among others, are operating at optimal degrees of readiness to host visitors to Expo 2020.

Badri stressed that the authority was also keen to train all its teams to welcome visitors to Expo 2020 and present an exemplary cultural experience.

Expo 2020 Dubai, which runs from October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022, is the premier international exhibition in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, and promotes the United Arab Emirates. Over 25 million visitors are expected to attend the exhibition, which greatly benefits the UAE and the region.

Dubai Tourism welcomes partners: Dubai Tourism Department highlighted the central role played by global hotel partners in accelerating the city’s tourism recovery.

In a meeting with the Managing Directors of Marriott International Hotels in Dubai, Issam Kazim, Managing Director of Dubai Tourism, presented a positive overview of the industry, highlighted by the steady growth in the number of international visits and high occupancy rates during the first seven months of 2021. He highlighted that Dubai ranked second globally ahead of London and Paris in hotel occupancy, with hotels posting average occupancy rates of 61% from January to July 2021.

Kazim also stressed the importance of leveraging all efforts to attract more international visitors, especially taking advantage of Expo 2020 Dubai and the UAE’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.

Kazim commented, “The growing momentum of the industry is the result of a robust strategy that has been developed to manage the pandemic under the leadership and visionary guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President. and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
