Originally from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and a father of two, Ramamoorthy (44) has lived in the United Arab Emirates for more than 20 years now. Employed in a law firm, Ramamoorthy intends to retire this year and use his Mahzooz windfall to start a business at home. Ramamoorthy heard about Mahzooz from his colleague and he has been actively participating in the draw since February 2021.
A delighted Ramamoorthy said: “I was happy to hear about my big win and I cannot express my gratitude enough to Mahzooz for this breakthrough. I intended to retire this year and return to my hometown. My desire to start a business in my country is now a reality — thanks to Mahzooz”.
According to Sharon, a 44-year-old Filipino expatriate who has resided in the United Arab Emirates for 14 years, the money came at the right time. Since November 2020, Sharon has participated in Mahzooz. His dream has finally come true.
Sharon, a Sharjah-based widowed nurse with two children, says she still finds it hard to believe she won such a large sum in the raffle. “I received this amount at the perfect time. I would love to use it to support my children’s education and of course to support charitable causes in the Philippines. Thank you Mahzooz for transforming my life in this way, she said.
John (34), an expat from the UK who works in the media industry in Abu Dhabi, has been living in the UAE for 20 years now. His family is settled in Italy. John didn’t even know he had won this prize until his friend told him about it. Naturally, he was delighted. “I have been extremely lucky. I learned about Mahzooz through word of mouth and have been participating regularly since November 2020. I am still thinking about how best to use this money, but this will indeed be life changing and I thanks Mahzooz for this amazing win,” he said.
Mahzooz means ‘lucky’ in Arabic and luck will once again smile on all participants in July as they could win an extra kilogram of gold up for grabs in the Mahzooz Golden Summer Draw. The additional draw will take place on July 30, 2022.
To participate in Mahzooz, participants must first register through www.mahzooz.ae and purchase a bottle of water for Dh35. For each bottle purchased, participants are eligible for entry into the Mahzooz grand draw and are then automatically entered into the weekly draw where three lucky winners can each win MAD 100,000.
Every bottle of water purchased is channeled through Mahzooz community partners to hydrate those in need.
