The world’s largest international airline, Emirates, officially resumes service in Newcastle today.
Flight EK033 will land at Newcastle International Airport at 7:10 p.m. and return flight EK034 will depart at 9:10 p.m. and arrive in Dubai tomorrow at 7:25 a.m. local time.
The takeover of Newcastle has aroused the joy of local business and politicians as well as airport bosses who have called it “an important step” in the takeover of the airport.

It follows the rapid restart of operations to London Heathrow, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow airports in recent months in response to increased demand for international travel.
The Newcastle service will operate four times a week and bring the total number of weekly Emirates flights to the UK to 77.
Newcastle is served by a Boeing 777-300ER widebody, offering passengers a choice of first, business and economy class with spacious cabins and a range of state-of-the-art inflight entertainment.
Today also marks the resumption of chauffeur services to and from Emirates’ Newcastle hub, providing passengers with a comfortable and frictionless premium travel experience for their onward journey.

Emirates currently offers an A380 London Heathrow service six times a day, two daily A380 flights to Manchester, a ten week service to Birmingham, a daily service to Glasgow and a four week service to Newcastle.
By December, Emirates’ total weekly flights to the UK will increase to 84, as daily services return to London Gatwick Airport.
The increased operations will make it easier for UK customers to access Emirates’ growing global network of 120 destinations – nearly 90% of the Emirates network before the pandemic.

With the UK now accepting vaccination certificates from 55 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, vaccinated travelers arriving in the UK no longer need to self-isolate.

Berwick MP and International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan spoke of the importance of the Emirates service to businesses in the region.
