As COVID-19 cases decline across the world, many countries are reopening their doors to travelers, but with several rules and regulations in place. The UAE has authorized tourist visas for Indian passport holders who have not been to the country in the past 14 days. The approval comes as the UAE slowly opens its arrivals. All travelers will be required to undergo a polymerase chain reaction test on the day of arrival and on the ninth day after arriving in the UAE.
Indians who wish to travel abroad should keep various guidelines in mind, as countries have formulated their own specific set of quarantine restrictions and rules. However, there are also exceptions for travelers, including heads of state, officials and bureaucrats at diplomatic missions, those on international student visas, and flights under the Vande Bharat mission.
Although India has extended its ban on international commercial flights until August 31, commercial flights are allowed to and from countries with which India has bilateral air bubble agreements, for example Afghanistan, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Canada, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Iraq, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Maldives, Nepal, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Qatar, Russia , Rwanda, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan and United States.
Canada also extended the suspension on flights from India until August 21 and said it will open to people from all countries fully vaccinated with recognized vaccines from September 7. However, Indian travelers who need to travel to Canada during this time must book a flight. via an “indirect route”. According to the revised official travel advisory, Canada will not accept India’s COVID-19 molecular test report. Therefore, travelers should get tested for the coronavirus in a “third country” before continuing their travel to Canada. According to the advisory, passengers who have previously tested positive for the COVID-19 virus and who are traveling from India to Canada must now provide proof of a coronavirus test performed between 14 and 90 days before their departure.
In July, Germany classified India from “virus variant country” to “high incidence area”. According to their latest rules, Indian travelers, who are fully vaccinated or who can prove they are recovering from the virus, will not be required to self-isolate upon arrival or return to Germany.
India has been placed on the “red list” of countries whose residents are not allowed to enter the UK at the moment. No new visa is issued to Indians to travel to the UK. Even those on long-term visas cannot travel to the UK directly from India and must travel to one of the countries on the ‘green list’ and spend at least 10 days there before visiting. travel to UK.
Unvaccinated travelers from India will be required to produce a negative RT-PCR test report on arrival, which was taken within 72 hours before (on arrival). Indian travelers must present proof of invitation from a government authorized travel agency. The tourist visa must be valid for up to 30 days for single or double entry. Spot tests will be carried out on arriving passengers; those with symptoms will be sent to a Covid testing center.
Flights between the Maldives and India have been operating since July 15 as the island nation eased travel restrictions. However, travelers are required to carry a negative Covid-19 PCR test report. For Serbia, travelers from India must bring a negative Covid-19 report which must be made 48 hours before the departure time.
Egypt has demanded that travelers from countries with Delta variant cases, including those from India, must undergo a rapid test upon arrival. All travelers will need to undergo a 15-minute DNA test called ID NOW before entering the country. If the passenger is positive, another RT-PCR test will be performed by the airport quarantine authorities. And if that report is also positive, they will be sent for further testing at a designated hospital, according to media reports.
Another country has opened its doors to Indian tourists after the Maldives and Canada in recent days. Qatar has now reopened its borders, albeit cautiously with some mandatory guidelines. Travelers from India arriving in Qatar (as of August 2 at noon Doha time), will have to undergo a mandatory quarantine at the hotel, the official official of the Indian Embassy in Doha tweeted on July 31. Outside of Qatar, vaccines recognized by the MOPH will have to undergo a mandatory hotel quarantine for 10 days, while unvaccinated people will not be allowed to enter Qatar.

Some of the countries that now allow Indians to visit but have restrictions in place, including a mandatory quarantine on arrival, include Montenegro, Bahrain, Qatar, Rwanda, Barbados, Bermuda, Mexico, Turkey and Panama.
